In an era dominated by superficial filters, artificial enhancement, and digital impermanence, true portraiture has become an endangered art form.

My work is the deliberate antidote to the over-polished and the temporary. Inspired by the raw, cinematic realism of twentieth-century, my camera does not seek to mask or airbrush. It seeks to reveal.

I document strength, intellect, and the striking individuality of character. Each piece is a timeless, monochromatic study captured in natural daylight against the historic textures of Norwich and the raw, atmospheric landscapes of the North Norfolk coast and landscape.

Who am I and why should you care!

I’m Marc Walton - When I’m not working, like many people, I find great joy being outside in the countryside walking, hiking or biking. This also leads me to photograph places I’ve been to, either with my very handy pocket sized phone, or the much heavier and bulkier camera, but that’s another story for another time!

For Portraits my goal is to photograph people with truthfulness and emotion!

My approach is simple: create the conditions for a person to forget about the camera, then make a portrait that has enough presence to last.
