The Portrait Commission
A considered, personal experience from the first conversation to the finished artwork.
I don’t belong to the world of corporate suits, pretentious art speak, or superficial glamour. If you are looking for an airbrushed, hyper-polished photograph that looks like everyone else's, I am straight up not the photographer for you.
My brain doesn’t think in complex text or boardroom vocabulary. I am deeply dyslexic. I see the world entirely through geometry, high-contrast shadows, and the raw, unforced truth of human emotion.
My inspiration comes directly from twentieth-century masters, who understood that a person’s real beauty lies in their strength and individuality—not a digital filter.
When you step into a commission with me, we leave titles, status, and expectations at the door. No one is superior to anyone else here. We meet on completely neutral ground.
Every single portrait I create is built on a genuine human connection. If we don’t connect, the camera stays in the bag.
Our sessions always start with a normal conversation—no rush, no performance, just two people breaking the ice. Only then do we go out into the moody light of the North Norfolk coast, the historic lanes of Norwich or studio to make something timeless.
I am here to document who you truly are. Let’s create a legacy piece for your estate that will stand the test of time.

The Dialogue We begin with a conversation. Not a consultation, but a dialogue to understand the version of yourself you wish to document.
The Curation True art is found in the details. Together, we refine the aesthetics—the clothing, the light, and the setting—to ensure the environment supports the story.
The Sitting The session is a space of intention. Through relaxed, deliberate direction, we move beyond the "pose" to capture the quiet strength of your presence.
The Selection From the raw captures, we select the definitive image—the one that speaks most truthfully.
The Masterpiece Your journey concludes with the delivery of a museum-grade framed print, transforming a moment of reflection into a permanent piece of legacy.

01 — Initial conversation
We’ll talk about what you’re hoping to create, where the portrait will live and what you want it to say.
02 — Preparation
We’ll consider clothing, styling and the details that will allow you to arrive feeling completely prepared.
03 — Portrait sitting
The session is calm and deliberate. I’ll guide you throughout, so you never have to wonder what to do.
04 — Image selection
We review the finished portraits together and identify the one—or small collection—that feels most like you.
05 — Artwork
Your chosen portrait is produced as a finished piece of artwork.
The Masterpiece
This section is very important for luxury.
We want you to have the best!
Made to live beyond the screen.
Your portrait deserves more than a folder on a hard drive.
Finished portraits are produced as archival artwork, designed to be lived with, displayed and passed down.
With a commission you will receive a 30” x 30” Framed Print of your portrait. The frame will be built out of solid wood, your portrait will be printed on to Fine Art Paper, which means it will look beauty and last a lifetime. It will also be protected behind non-reflective clear panel. We only use the best printers in the UK and/or the best local framers.
It is a collaborative, curated experience resulting in a museum-grade archival masterwork for your estate.
If there is no connection, there is no portrait.
I need to be transparent with you. My work relies entirely on a genuine human connection. If there’s a wall between us, the portrait won’t work, and I won’t create a piece that isn’t authentic. It’s just you, me and the light. Are you comfortable with that?
To maintain uncompromising creative depth, I accept a strictly limited number of fine art commissions each year.
Fine Art Masterwork Commissions begin at £2,500. Entry is by private consultation only.
