Timeless Portraiture for Women who ‘keep becoming’
Bespoke portraits celebrating the strength, vitality, character, and individuality
of women who are actively shaping who they are.
For women who take an active role in their lives - through movement, work, creativity, reflection, or change - and want to be seen as they are now.
Why Celebrate the Woman Who Keeps Becoming?
Don't wait for a traditional milestone to document who you are. Capture the woman you have fought to become, right now.
You don’t need an engagement ring, a corporate promotion, or a traditional deadline to justify stepping in front of the camera. The chapters of your internal evolution are the most beautiful reasons to be photographed.
Celebrate your journey of continuous becoming by documenting these powerful shifts:
The "Own Your Power" Portrait: To mark the moment you stopped seeking external validation and finally fully backed yourself.
The Next-Chapter Pivot: To honour a brave career change, a creative awakening, or the defiant choice to reinvent yourself in a new decade.
The Radical Peace Era: To capture the quiet, grounded strength of a woman who has learned to protect her boundaries and choose deep peace over hustle.
The "Late Bloomer" Radiance: To celebrate the beauty of timing—proving that stepping into your true identity "later in life" is exactly on time.
The Both/And Revolution: To document the rare and beautiful blend of your high ambition and your softest, truest self.
The Architecture of Character
Bespoke black and white portrait commissions for individuals who value legacy over trends.
In an era dominated by superficial filters, artificial enhancement, and digital impermanence, true portraiture has become an endangered art form.
My work is the deliberate antidote to the over-polished and the temporary. Inspired by the raw, cinematic realism of twentieth-century, my camera does not seek to mask or airbrush. It seeks to reveal.
I document strength, intellect, and the striking individuality of character. Each piece is a timeless, monochromatic study captured in natural daylight against the historic textures of Norwich and the raw, atmospheric landscapes of the North Norfolk coast and landscape.
The experience
I want you to have an unhurried portrait experience, created for you.
I would like to explain a little bit on how the experience works -
01 — Conversation
We begin by understanding what you want from the portrait with a informal chat.
02 — Preparation
Everything is considered beforehand, from clothing to setting.
03 — The Sitting
A relaxed, directed session designed to reveal something genuine.
04 — The Portrait
Together we select the image that deserves to become the finished artwork.
05 — The Masterpiece
You will take delivery of your very own Framed Print to hang in your home.
Monochromatic Studies
Who am I and why should you care!
My goal is to photograph people with truthfulness and emotion!
“I can’t claim to be perfect by any means, but what I can say is, I will do my best to help you record who you are right now, the person who you have become, and have some fun along the way!”
“My approach is simple: create the conditions for a person to forget about the camera, then make a portrait that has enough presence to last.”
I’m Marc Walton - When I’m not working, like many people, I find great joy being outside in the countryside walking, hiking or biking. This also leads me to photograph places I’ve been to, either with my very handy pocket sized phone, or the much heavier and bulkier camera, but that’s another story for another time!
On this page we are talking about “becoming’. This is something that I have also strived to do, but as you will know from your own experience, it is full of challenges! So I have understanding of what it is like to become someone new.
I look forward to finding out more about your challenges and how you have overcome them to keep growing as a person.
